And i , should i not have pity on nineveh , the great city , in which are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot discern between their right hand and their left , and many cattle 11何況這尼尼微大城，其中不能分辨右手和左手的有十二萬多人，并有許多牲畜，我豈能不憐惜呢？
Then he issued a proclamation in nineveh : “ by the decree of the king and his nobles : do not let any man or beast , herd or flock , taste anything ; do not let them eat or drink 7他又使人遍告尼尼微通城，說，王和大臣有令，人不可嘗什么，牲畜，牛羊不可吃草，也不可喝水。
And everyone who sees you will flee from you and say , nineveh is laid waste . who will lament for her ? where will i seek some to comfort you 7凡看見你的，都必逃跑離開你，說，尼尼微成了荒場。有誰為她悲傷呢？我何處尋得安慰你的人呢？
For word came unto the king of nineveh , and he arose from his throne , and he laid his robe from him , and covered him with sackcloth , and sat in ashes 拿3 : 6這信息傳到尼尼微王的耳中、他就下了寶座、脫下朝服、披上麻布、坐在灰中。
