Joab said , “ if the arameans are too strong for me , then you are to rescue me ; but if the ammonites are too strong for you , then i will rescue you 12約押對亞比篩說，亞蘭人若強過我，你就來幫助我。亞捫人若強過你，我就去幫助你。
Now tobiah the ammonite was near him and he said , “ even what they are building if a fox should jump on it , he would break their stone wall down ! 尼4 : 3亞捫人多比雅站在旁邊、說、他們所修造的石墻、就是狐貍上去也必?倒。
Then jephthah sent messengers to the ammonite king with the question : “ what do you have against us that you have attacked our country ? 12耶弗他打發使者去見亞捫人的王，說，你與我有什么相干，竟來到我國中攻打我呢？
They said to the ammonites , “ tomorrow we will surrender to you , and you can do to us whatever seems good to you . 10于是雅比人對亞捫人說、明日我們出來歸順你們、你們可以隨意待我們。

They were a people strong and numerous , and as tall as the anakites . the lord destroyed them from before the ammonites , who drove them out and settled in their place 21那民眾多，身體高大，像亞衲人一樣，但耶和華從亞捫人面前除滅他們，亞捫人就得了他們的地，接著居住。

8 and the ammonites gave gifts to uzziah : and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of egypt ; for he strengthened himself exceedingly 撒下: 8 : 2又攻打摩押人、使他們躺臥在地上、用繩量一量、量二繩的殺了、量一繩的存留摩押人就歸服大衛、給他進貢。
